Caitlin McGauley
Caitlin McGauley is an artist and illustrator, who lives and works in New York. She is best known for her detailed watercolors of interiors and her sumi ink fashion illustrations that bear her own unmistakable style. Her paintings demonstrate a sureness of hand that that only develops from experience and a willingness to work with a lack of hesitation that makes her work distinctive for its technique as well as its saturated color and balance of interesting patterns. Her illustrations reflect a contemporary sensibility that mirrors the best sense of the style of her own generation, and it is no wonder that the likes of Kate Spade New York, Tory Burch, and Ralph Lauren Home, where she formerly designed textiles, number among her clients. Other clients have included Hermes Paris, Domino Magazine, Tiffany & Co., and Abrams Books.
Caitlin is still in the earlier stage of her career and her star is clearly rising. We are excited to offer some of her prints on a scale larger than ever previously available, and the large scale of these prints dramatically highlights the strong technique of her work and her exceptional ability to balance color and pattern.
Caitlin lives in Chelsea with her husband and two children.
